Title:
Back to the Feature! Deployment in SharePoint 2010

Description:
We know the excellent SharePoint developer tool support provided by SharePoint 2010, especially around the ease of packing and deploying your customizations. In this talk, we’ll go behind the scenes of the deployment model to build an understanding of project structure / features / solutions / deployment in 2010.
We’ll demonstrate that the developer has control over solution structure and deployment configuration. We will look at adding a feature receiver to the solution including the new FeatureUpgrading override. We will compare and contrast the deployment of a simple “visual” web part as both a Site Collection scoped feature as well as a Sandboxed solution – so that you understand the benefits and limitations that the new Sandboxing capabilities bring to 2010.
