Covering new terminology, changes to the install and briefly cover the upgrade options. SharePoint architecture changes including introducing you to Shared Service Applications. New management options in SharePoint 2010 including the addition of Managed Accounts. Describe how you architect the Services logical topology. In addition to the logical topology, drill into how you scale-up/scale-out the physical topology to meet the scale expectations for your organization.

This month’s monthly meeting is this Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Remember to always hold the third Wednesday of the month for TSPUG meetings.
The topic for this week’s session is SharePoint Metadata and Security. We will discuss the benefits of SharePoint metadata, some of the different ways to populate metadata into SharePoint, and how metadata can be used within SharePoint document libraries, including search, security and retention. We will also discuss Titus Labs new metadata related offerings for SharePoint 2007.
Speaker Bio- Charlie Pulfer is the VP of Product Management at Titus Labs. Charlie has spent the last year and a half spearheading Titus Labs’ development of several SharePoint solutions. Titus Labs has been building classification and metadata solutions for the Microsoft Office platform the past five years for customers such as Dow Corning, Australian Department of Defense, US Dept of Veteran’s Affairs and UK Cabinet Office. Prior to joining Titus Labs, Charlie spent nine years at Microsoft in various sales and product management roles.
